H&M Removes All Justin Bieber Merch After Singer Said He Didn’t Approve Products

After Justin Bieber publicly criticized a new H&M collection featuring his likeness and said he didn’t approve it, the fashion retailer has removed all of the merch.

Per Forbes, the Swedish fashion company said that it “followed proper approval procedures” in production of the collection, but has decided to pull the clothes “out of respect for the collaboration and Justin Bieber.” The move comes just days after Bieber said that he did not give his approval of the merch, which included a sweatshirt and a dress with Bieber’s face and lyrics etched on them, prior to its release. If searching for Bieber on the H&M website, no items currently show up.

“I didn’t approve any of the merch collection that they put up at H&M,” he wrote in a now-expired Instagram Story. “All without my permission and approval. SMH I wouldn’t buy it if I were you.” In a second post, he was more inflammatory towards H&M. “The H&M merch they made of me is trash and I didn’t approve it don’t buy it,” he wrote.

Bieber currently sells his own colorful merch on his website, and runs the streetwear brand Drew.

On Wednesday, it was reported that Biebz might be in for a major payday soon. The Canadian pop star is reportedly in talks with Hipgnosis Capital to broker one of the company’s biggest music-rights acquisitions in its history. The deal would cover his full discography, spanning six albums and several one-off singles, in exchange for $200 million in total.
