Holiday 2022 Dream Jewels Of Those In The Know

0

Publicists, jewelry buyers and retailers see an unprecedented amount of jewels throughout the year. Publicists see those they represent, those who desire their representation, plus all others at trade shows and fairs. Retailers view modern and antique pieces or both, sometimes both, depending on what they sell. Editors and journalists are often asked the same question—I know I have been asked numerous times and have asked my peers. Therefore, I thought it would be fun to hear from those who promote, market and sell jewels regarding the one piece they are dreaming about for Holiday 2022. All were very straightforward, and only a few mentioned their own clients.

Let’s see if any of these jewels inspire the one you’d want to own this season:

Laura Freeman, owner of Broken English, L.A. and NYC

“Riviere necklaces have had a significant renaissance over the past few years, and I just adore this mid-twentieth-century vintage citrine iteration – the ultimate party necklace. I imagine putting it on with a fabulous black cocktail dress with an interesting neckline or even super causally with a soft, neutral-toned sweater and jeans. The color gives this piece a lot of personality, but its classic style will have remarkable staying power in any jewelry collection

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been obsessed with Verdura’s curb link watch, like the vintage one Greta Garbo wore in the 1941 George Cukor film, Two-Faced Woman. I love that it’s a jewel and a timepiece at once. It has this incredibly cool, laid-back quality while being equally sophisticated. I once tried a pre-worn one on at a vintage jewelry show, along with the house’s curb link bracelet. The dream is to wear them alongside each other. Either the new iterations or if I could find them again, the vintage versions. The look is iconic and so weighty and chic!

Alexandra Cervellero Co-0wer of Gray and Davis/ West Village, NYC

“My ideal holiday jewel is this maximalist Edwardian ring. It is bright, happy and quite uncommon – but when pressed as to why this one and not all the others, it speaks to me and gives me the butterflies you only get when you are in the presence of beauty. I have bought myself important pieces, but I would want this one to be gifted. Being a hopeless romantic, I would never hint. That being said, this is a pretty big hint:)

Since Beth Hutchings launched her eponymous brand FoundRae, I have been a staunch fan, supporter and customer. Even though I have innumerable jewelry brands at my fingertips, My dream jewel this season is from Beth’s Forever & Always A Pair Collection. It has become a personal favorite, and there are a few styles within this group I would, without a doubt, purchase for myself for the holidays. I am most taken with this style, which is versatile, edgy with a classic twist. I love the heavy statement chain, with the charms of pears and the meaning behind the pears, as I have many “pairs” in my life. They are also my favorite diamond shape. Every element makes it the perfect necklace, a keepsake I would treasure forever!

Ellen Hertz, Owner/President , Max’s, Twin Cities, MN

“These Anthony Lent earrings have been one of my favorite pairs that we sell (over and over and over again) in the store. Every time I order these, I threaten to take them home with me—and then they sell! Who doesn’t love yellow gold hoops and the Man in the Moon? Ever since I was a kid, I would look up at the sky, and when I saw him, I thought, ‘he looks so close to us.’ No need to ask or hint around for these this holiday season — the price is right for me to claim them today, and maybe when I ordered that extra pair, it was telling me to purchase them finally!”

Stacy McLaughlin, Owner and President of Stacy McLaughlin Public Relations

“It was love at first sight when I walked into A La Vieille Russie and saw this strikingly beautiful Art Deco coral and rose cut diamond necklace with a diamond and coral cross pendant suspended from it. This incredible piece from circa 1925 is timeless without being trapped in a certain period. It would certainly make my Christmas a bit merrier! I would buy it for myself and leave it to my husband to buy me something else for being on the good list this year.”

Sari Brown, Owner of Lux Couture, Newton Highlands, MA

“ This is my dream interpretation of a classic eternity ring. Jade Trou’s Poppy Eternity Band is designed to be a standout piece in any ring stack. Handcrafted in 18K gold and featuring 4.56 TCW of pear, marquise, and round diamonds, it is so special –all the different fancy cuts in one elegant ring. I would wear this ring all the time now and save it for the next generations of my family, allowing this timeless style to live on and on. And it’s one I am definitely going to purchase for myself.

Brielle Forman/ Publicist, IHPR, NYC

“As a jewelry devotee, I love timeless jewelry pieces, custom designs, stones that have deeper meanings, inscriptions, and anything that sparkles. This holiday season I’ve been swooning over Cece Jewellery’ cloud and star sign signet ring. It is handmade from frosted 18K gold and features three star set diamonds, a hand-painted enamel raincloud and an engraved constellation. Her jewels are miniature works of art and the perfect piece to pass down for generations. This would be my self-purchase which also evokes a sense of clarity and calm going into the new year.”

Shannon Green owner of Shannon Green, Naples, FL

“Since I have been dreaming about an emerald ring for so long, I thought that would be my choice. But, after much contemplation, I am going with the emerald-cut green tourmaline three-stone ring by Suzy Landa. I love the elegance of the cut, the fact that they match so perfectly, the ring’s rich color saturation and earthiness of it. Suzy Landa builds her designs around the stones she sources. She is a rockhound and finds exquisite gems to create the mountings and textures. I do love her use of bezel set diamonds and matte gold. It feels casual and wearable for any occasion. This is one I definitely was to purchase for myself.”

Yael Fraynd, President and Owner of YaYa Publicity, NYC

“This Rahaminov bypass diamond ring is a piece of which I will be dropping major hints! I have purchased many of my jewels, but something about this one says “gift me.” It is a luxurious treasure, yet something I could wear every day and the perfect piece to dress up or down. I gravitate towards jewelry that reflects my bold personality and this edgier bypass ring is the embodiment of rough around the edges yet elegant. Two diamonds are always better than one and these shining, stunning Rahaminov trillion cuts mesmerize. I fall in love every time I get a peek at this 6.11 TCW stunner in person.”

Alex Lippin/Fine Jewelry Buyer, Elyse Walker

“When you spend your life looking at beautiful, sparkly things, it is tough to pick one favorite. But there is a piece that I have been coveting this season which is Emily P. Wheeler’s diamond snake chain necklace. It’s a little bit vintage and a little bit rock and roll, and I just love how it sits on the neck. It’s a definite conversation piece and something that will never go out of style. And since this story is being published, let’s consider this a very public hint!”
