The consumer watchdog rated a total of 18 holiday parks across the country.

They judged them based on factors like cleanliness, accommodation quality, customer services, and facilities, along with entertainment and food and drink.

The scores were then calculated against the average price per night and value for money.

Potters Resorts, which is a family-run holiday park, took the top spot with an overall score of 88 per cent.

The all-inclusive resort, which has two locations in Norfolk and Essex, scored five out of five stars for all categories including customer service and value for money.

According to Which? members, they prided the holiday resort on its value for money because it includes free drinks as part of its all-inclusive package.

The holiday resort also features a wide variety of entertainment options including West End-style shows like Mamma Mia! and Queen.

Other activities include archery, an inflatable assault course, rally karts, and wellie wanging among others.

Meanwhile, the Waterside Holiday Group came in at second place with an overall score of 87 per cent.

Like Potters Resorts, the Waterside Holiday Group also scored five out of five across all the categories.

The holiday park dipped into second place because it wasn’t all-inclusive and required guests to pay more upfront.

There are four different sites across the south of England (three in Dorset, and one in Cornwall).

All of the sites have caravans that are at least 3.6m wide with central heating, double glazing, fully-equipped kitchens, and widescreen TVs.

Bluestone National Park Resort in Wales came nabbed third place with an overall score of 81 per cent.

Along with a subtropical indoor water park, the resort has the Serendome, a covered activity centre as well as the Steep Ravine adventure course, restaurants, and cafes.

Its range of woodland lodges and colourful terrace cottages were also awarded a full five stars.

Center Parcs came 8th out of 18 – while it ranked highly for the quality of the accommodation, it fell down on its value for money.

Meanwhile, Butlins scored 71 per cent and Pontins scored 59 per cent in the Which? survey.

And a new holiday park could soon open in the UK, with luxury holiday lodges, lakeside views, and a restaurant.

Work has already started on Widdrington Lakes Holiday Park in Northumberland.

But this isn’t the only holiday park set to open in the UK, with plans also approved for Hollybush Lakes Holiday Park in Aldershot in Hampshire.

The 16.5-acre site, which is situated near the A331, will feature nine floating holiday lodges with three to four bedrooms in each building.

Meanwhile, a theme park that has been dubbed the ‘UK Disneyland’ is scheduled to open in 2025 – even though plans were scaled back in last December.
