Holly Willoughby hit with backlash as fans fume over Glastonbury remarks

Holly Willoughby is facing a backlash for making constant references to her time at Glastonbury Festival which was held last weekend.

She missed Monday’s instalment of This Morning, but when she returned on Tuesday her co-host Craig Doyle asked: “What’s going on here then? The cold? A bit of hay fever?”

Explaining her croaky voice, she said: “I’ve been officially Glasto’d. This is what this voice is.

“It’s always my first thing to go and actually I blame Elton John for this.”

Sir Elton John was the headliner who closed the festival on Sunday night with an incredible performance on the iconic Pyramid Stage.

As Holly mentioned the Somerset festival throughout This Morning, viewers took to Twitter in anger.

Edward Vaughan penned: “Holly really isn’t reading the room is she?#thismorning.”

Michelle added: “Holly’s going to be unbearable with her croaky voice today #thismorning.”

Boris said: “Not watching #Thismorning but going from your tweets the blonde is recovering from her private helicopter jaunt to Glastonbury over the weekend.”

@Bansweed commented: “@Thismorningnormal people have a weekend away and go back to work on Monday. Apparently not Holly Willoughby.

“She goes to Glastonbury and then takes Monday off. What is it with this woman, doesn’t she have enough time off already?”

Meanwhile, Laura Tapp wrote: “I really feel for Holly, she’s being made to stay there. She should go and be with her family. This is painful to watch #ThisMorning.”

Paul Hulse shared: “Something I don’t understand, People moan about Holly Willoughby still being at #ThisMorning yet when she suddenly has a day off… People still moan. I’m clearly missing something here.”

Holly reportedly flew to Glastonbury via a helicopter with a friend and her husband Dan Baldwin on Friday and has been sharing snaps of the event on her social media.
