This price hike is to a maximum of Rs 7,000 seen on the Honda Amaze Diesel E MT variant

Honda was the 6th best-selling automaker in India in December 2021. Sales stood at 7,973 units in the past month, a YoY de-growth of 7.70 percent over 8,638 units sold in December 2021. It was however a MoM increase of 46 percent over 5,457 units sold in November 2021.

A majority of car and bike manufacturers have announced price hikes from January 2022 with rising manufacturing cost of vehicles making this necessary. OEMs such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Toyota, MG, Kia, Hero MotoCorp and Ducati have revealed the increased pricing which comes into effect from January 2022.

Honda Cars India has also announced increased pricing for the New Year. This includes its four popular models WR-V, Jazz, Amaze and City. Starting with the Honda WR-V, the price hike sees the base SV MT petrol variant higher by Rs 6,492 to Rs 8,82,500. The VX MT receives no price hike but WR-V SV MT diesel carries a price hike of Rs 6,919 to Rs 10,84,000. Honda WR-V VX MT is now higher by Rs.6,341 to Rs 11,86,000.

With effect from January 2022, Honda Jazz also get costlier by Rs 6,394 across range. New pricing now ranges between Rs 7,71,500 for the V MT variant going up to Rs 9,95,500 for top of the line ZX CVT.

Honda Amaze, City Price Hike Jan 2022

Honda Amaze petrol variants are priced higher by Rs 6,500 and the new pricing now ranges between Rs 6,38,500 for Amaze E MT petrol going up to Rs 9,11,500 for Amaze VX CVT petrol variant. Honda Amaze diesel E MT variant is costlier by Rs 7,000 to Rs 8,73,000 while other variants S MT, VX MT and VX CVT carrier a higher price by Rs 6,500 to range between Rs 9,32,500, Rs 10,31,500 and Rs 11,21,500.

5th Gen Honda City has also been a part of the price hike announced by the company. Its prices have been increased by Rs 6,794 across all variants. The new pricing for both petrol and diesel variants and in manual and CVT options, now stands from Rs 11,23,000 to Rs 15,18,000.

Upcoming Honda Cars In India

After discontinuing their cars like Civic and CRV from the Indian market, Honda is expected to launch new cars. Though Honda Cars India have not officially announced, they could be launching new SUVs in India. One of these could be based on the recently unveiled Concept.

As per the details revealed, this new SUV will in the same segment as Creta and Seltos. It could be powered by the same engine as City – 1.5 liter petrol and 1.5 liter diesel. More details are expected closer to launch.
