The Hong Kong Masters returns to the snooker calendar for the first time since 2017 this week as eight players battle it out for a top prize of £100,000 in front of an enormous crowd.
Up to 8,000 spectators could be present at the Hong Kong Coliseum for the invitational event, which sees the top six players in the world (at the time of the cut-off) joined by local stars Marco Fu and Ng On Yee.
It could be a hugely significant tournament as the World Snooker Tour pushes to return to Asia on a regular basis, with this being the first major tournament held on the continent since 2019.
Chinese tournaments have been missing from the calendar since the start of the global pandemic, damaging the tour, but testing the waters with a small field event in Hong Kong could be a step to returning to China in the near future.
When is the Hong Kong Masters?
The event runs from 6-9 October at the Hong Kong Coliseum.
Hong Kong is seven hours ahead of the UK, so the afternoon session begins at 6.30am UK time and the evening session at midday.
