Blade is a 5-star character from Honkai: Star Rail and is a strong 5-star Wind character in the game. As a Destruction character, Blade deals damage by sacrificing his own HP while adding a bit of tankiness to his kit. Additionally, his uptime in battle is generally unselfish, allowing him to be played flexibly as a main DPS or sub-DPS. Blade succeeds in both aspects, dealing damage or supporting your main damage dealer, making him a useful character to pull for. Here’s our guide for the best Blade build in Honkai: Star Rail.
Blade’s best build in Honkai: Star Rail
Light Cones
Due to Blade’s unique HP-sacrificing mechanic and HP-scaling, there are only a few weapons that Blade truly shines with.
- The Unreachable Side is Blade’s signature weapon and works with his unique HP-sacrificing mechanic. This weapon has a passive that boosts the wearer’s Crit Rate by 18%, which is already a strong addition to any weapon. This weapon also boosts the wearer’s max HP by 18%. As Blade deals more damage with a high HP stat, this is a crucial stat boost for Blade. Finally, when the wearer is attacked or consumes their own HP, the wearer will deal 24% increased damage. As Blade is constantly sacrificing his HP, this is a sizable damage increase that is almost always active.
- A Secret Vow is Blade’s best 4-star weapon and your best option if you do not have his signature weapon. This weapon increases the DMG dealt by the wearer by 20%. The wearer will also deal an extra 20% of DMG to enemies whose current HP percentage is equal to or higher than the wearer’s current HP percentage. As Blade is constantly sacrificing his HP, he will usually have less HP than his opponents, which will ensure the second part of this weapon’s passive is usually working.
- A Mutual Demise is Blade’s best free-to-play option if you do not have A Secret Vow. This weapon boosts the wearer’s Crit Rate when their HP is less than 80%, which Blade’s should be.
Relics & Eidolons
Unlike most DPS characters, Blade’s damage will scale off of his HP. This means we will want to build him with HP stats instead of the typical ATK stats you might expect from a DPS character. That being said, there is really only one Relic set you will want to aim for as a Blade player.
- Blade scales off of HP for his damage. The Longevous Disciple set increases the wearer’s HP by 12%, while also increasing the wearer’s Crit Rate by 8% up to 2 times every time they lose HP. This fits perfectly with Blade’s kit. For his 2-piece set, use the Rutilant Arena set. This set increases the wearer’s Crit Rate by 8%, and increasing the damage of the wearer’s Basic ATK and Skill by 20% when their Crit Rate is above 70%.
Here are some of Blade’s most important Eidolons to hit:
- Eidolons 1 & 6 are the most important Eidolons as they directly improve his damage.
- Eidolon 4 is also a decent stopping point, as it provides a sizable HP% increase.
