Hot Dog on a Stick celebrates rebuilding of its original Muscle Beach stand

Hot Dog on a Stick will hold a grand reopening celebration on Saturday, April 22 for its original stand near the Santa Monica Pier.

The 440-square-foot stand opened in 1946 at what was then a place where weightlifters hung out, according to the fast food chain. Muscle Beach is considered in Venice.

The structure was recently rebuilt after years of planning. The modern building is slightly larger but looks the same.

Festivities will take place 2-4 p.m. and include a staff reunion; the chance to try to squash lemons the way staff members do; a free small Original Lemonade; and limited-edition swag, according to a news release.
