Although the university graduations made the city busier, we were able to enjoy the city at a leisurely pace.

The team at the hotel are always on hand to help, from advice on the city’s haunts to providing essentials for the forgetful traveller.

Bath is full of historic attractions to enjoy.

If the tourist-packed Roman Baths isn’t for you, No1 Royal Crescent offers a taste of Georgian life in one of the oldest houses in the famed row.

The Jane Austen Centre had us rolling in the aisles as actors took us through the life of Bath’s most beloved author.

The Elder, the hotel’s restaurant and bar, is independently run and owned by restaurateur Mike Robinson with Gavin Edney as executive chef.

This is where breakfast is served, and hotel guests can book a table.

The Elder focuses on hearty British food served in a modern way.

Game is a strong feature on the menu with venison and wood-pigeon going down a storm.

Little extras such as home-made bread and broth as an amuse bouche made the meal perfect.

Mains cost an average of £30, while the six-course tasting menu is £80pp.
