Dan Walker has had quite the journey on Strictly Come Dancing, often finding himself near the bottom of the leaderboard. He has so far managed to avoid a dance-off with professional partner Nadiya Bychkova in the results show which air on Sunday evening. Dan has always refused to work on a Sunday due to his faith – how can he appear on the Strictly results show?
Taking on Strictly has always been a full-time job for the celebs who sign up to the much-loved series.
It is a rigorous and exhausting undertaking for all involved, with intense training taking place throughout the week to ensure the best performances each Saturday night.
With this in mind, some fans will be shocked to learn Walker does not work on a Sunday and enjoys a day off.
This is because Walker and his family have always upheld their religious belief Sundays are a day of rest.

“My sister’s a nurse in intensive care and she works on Sunday but it’s a choice I made a long time ago to try and set that day aside to spend that day with my family and church and doing things slightly differently.
“It’s not something that works for everybody but it really works for me and I think it gives me a really good perspective.
“And my kids know, wherever I am with busy stuff all over the place, I’ll be there on a Sunday and that’ll be a day we spend together as a family.
“And no one at Strictly ever does anything on a Sunday anyway, so it’s not like I’m missing out on anything, but for me, it helps me tick and keeps me going.”
Now living in Sheffield with his wife Sarah and three children aged 14, 12, and 10, Walker originally grew up in Crawley.
His father was a minister at his local Evangelical church, and Walker has continued his father’s beliefs to this day.
This also means Walker does not celebrate Halloween, which is why BBC viewers saw him dressed as a lobster for their spooky special.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Sunday at 7.20pm on BBC One.
