Messi’s future was up in the air for a long time. PSG offered a new contract extension to him although he eventually rejected it. This sparked a lot of speculation regarding his future, with a move to Saudi Arabia for an enormous amount of money and a return to Barcelona both being possibilities.
Messi explored the possibility of returning to the Catalan side, however, with the club still constrained by financial limitations, the probability faded away.
Saudi Pro League side Al-hilal on the other way pushed hard to convince the player to join the Middle East side, uniting two rivals Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi once again. However, the World Cup winner ultimately selected the MLS side as his next destination.

Messi reportedly received an offer close to €500 million per season from the Middle East, however, he rejected it for a fee close to €50 million per season (4.4 Billion INR) from Inter Miami.
This may look like a stupid choice, however, some underlying numbers could tell otherwise. Messi will reportedly receive a share of all Messi-based merchandises Adidas sells after he joins the MLS club while a part of the revenue generated by Apple’s MLS streaming will also be pocketed by the little maestro.
Not only that there are rumors that a future stake in the MLS side will also be presented to Messi once he hangs up his boots, making the deal a truly lucrative one for the former Barcelona man.
