Bayern Munich have won two German Super Cups and the Bundesliga during that period with his assistance. However, the club have decided to hire a new head coach following some shaky performances in the Bundesliga as they fight to maintain their domestic supremacy.

Bayern Munich executives Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic have suggested that the termination is due to downward performance issues. However, there seems to be an underlying factor as well behind the sacking.

How Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur played a key role in Thomas Tuchel’s appointment?

Thomas Tuchel has been in the good book of the Bavarian side since his Dortmund days. However, the German coach never became available for the managerial role at Allianz Arena. Following the conclusion of Chelsea’s stint, Tuchel was out of a job.

It appears that his availability forced the hierarchy in Bayern to make a decision quicker than usual. Moreover, Tuchel’s potential link with a managerial role at Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur made the club jump at the prospect considering that he may not be available come the summer.

Tuchel now returns to the Allianz Arena with a reputed CV. In his stint with PSG, he won two league titles while leading PSG to their first-ever Champions League final. His unfulfilled European final at PSG however came after at Stamford Bridge where he guided the English side to the Champions League trophy in 2019-20.

With almost a treble in sight to secure before the end of the season, Bayern fans would hope that Tuchel now can replicate the same at his new side and maintain the pinnacle which he offers.
