Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has a bunch of different features for you to dip your toes into, with only more coming via the DLC expansion Future Redeemed. With the addition of the new Affinity Points system, doing everything becomes even more rewarding than it was before. The new system allows you to earn Affinity Points to upgrade your characters for doing basically anything in the game from exploration to combat. The way you earn Affinity Points in combat is by completing something called the Enemypaedia, which is something that can seem rather overwhelming at first. Here’s our guide on how the Enemypaedia works in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed.
How the Enemypaedia works in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed
You can access the Enemypaedia from the Affinity Goals menu from the menu screen you can get to by pressing the X button in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Within this tab you can see many different ways of earning Affinity Points, but we’re going to be focusing on the Enemypaedia for this guide. You can get to the Enemypaedia by scrolling to the fifth option on the Affinity Goals screen.
Once you select the Enemypaedia in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed, you can see a lot of information, so let’s parse it and how it all works.
Understanding the menu
The first thing you’ll notice is the octagonal shapes that house the monsters you have defeated or run into. These are the different entries of the Enemypaedia in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and you can track how many you need to kill to complete that entry of the Enemypaedia with the numbers below it.
At the top of this area of the screen, you’ll see the location name you’re currently looking at, and can change that with the right stick. You can also see a number that pertains to the percentage amount of Enemypaedia entries you have completed. To the right side, you can see these percentage numbers on a map, showcasing every area of the game at once.
The bottom-left area of the Enemypaedia in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 showcases the various things you can learn about enemies while gathering data through the Enemypaedia. Here you can see the item drops that the mob has, the drop chances for various item rarities, alongside if you’ve currently pinned a drop that the enemy has for any of the pin types.
Remember to pin any items you need in menus so you can take advantage of the pinning feature in the Enemypaedia as that can be a lifesaver if you’re hunting for a certain item to help finish making whatever it is you need at that time.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is available to purchase from the Nintendo Store.
