What’s fabulous about celebrating the holidays in Hawaii?
Well, you just might see Santa partying in a pair of Neoprene swim trunks, as he arrives on the island of Maui via a canoe filled with gifts. And you just might have a dessert of shave ice instead of the typical pumpkin pie.
Here’s how they do the festivities at one of my favorite resorts.
Vacationers at Wailea Beach Resort Marriott Maui will be treated to sunshine-filled holidays when they stay during the festive season. This holiday season, families are invited to celebrate with a wide array of festive offerings including Holiday Hula Lessons, Wood Art Ornament Making and a daily Elf on the Shelf Scavenger hunt. For parents, exclusive tastings and mixology workshops are perfect for an adults-only outing, and the whole family will enjoy the opportunity to greet Santa as he arrives in Maui by canoe. The resort offers private dining experiences for families to indulge in a luxurious meal on the ocean’s edge, private dining on a floating cabana for couples to sip wine with their holiday sweetheart, and even a Coco Yoga (a workout based around the coconut) for guests to prepare their mind and body for the new year. Other holiday-themed activities include ornament-making classes and gingerbread house construction, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus and a rooftop New Year’s Eve celebration to ring in 2023 under the Maui stars. Think of the upscale astronomy “lesson” as your “constellation prize!”
