Monday, July 31 is National Avocado Day, which gives those that serve guacamole the chance to promote it.
As is common these days, chains are linking their promotions to their loyalty programs or social media accounts.
Here are a few offers that have been announced.
Chipotle Mexican Grill: Chipotle Rewards members can get its handmashed guac for free on the side or on top of any entrée purchase on July 31 when they use the promo code “AVO2023” at checkout on Chipotle’s app or website, according to a news release.
But the Newport Beach chain is going further with a promotion on Threads, the new social media app. It’s called “Get In The Pit” and gives participants the chance to win two free concert tickets. From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on July 31, Chipotle will drop as many as 13 text-to-win codes on the app. The 1,000th fan to text the code to 888222 every hour will receive the tickets, according to a news release. Winners can pick the concert or music festival from qualified providers, which include Ticketmaster, AXS, StubHub, SeatGeek and Vivid Seats. The total value cannot exceed $5,000. Del Taco: Members of Del Yeah! Rewards can buy one Epic Fresh Guacamole Burrito and get one free on July 31 only when they use the rewards app or order online. The offer is limited to one per guest, according to the Lake Forest-based chain. deltaco.com
Rubio’s Coastal Grill: Rewards members can get free chips and guac with any purchase on July 31, according to a news release. They can either place their order online or through the app, or scan their in-app QR codes when they make purchases at the register. rubios.com
