One of the biggest jackpots of the year is up for grabs on Thursday night with Powerball draw 1404 offering a $30 million prize.
So far there have already been five division one winners in 2023 who have taken home $99.82 million in prize money between them.
South Australia seems to have had the best luck so far this year, with two residents cashing in, while NSW, Victoria and Western Australia also each have a winner.
One woman from Echuca in Northern Victoria described how her whole body went numb when she realised she was $40 million richer after winning Wednesday night’s draw, the largest division one prize in any lottery this year.
“Oh my god! Oh my god! I can’t believe it. I thought it was a scam!” she said.
“This just doesn’t feel real. How do I know if this is real?”
She said she’s considering quitting her job and will be able to pay off her mortgage and set herself up for the future.
“My husband and I have these goals in place and were wondering how we were going to achieve them, but now we don’t have to worry anymore!”
There are some tips for those waiting on tonight’s result, with many hot and cold numbers developing over the past five years.
Most frequently drawn winning numbers:
- From the main barrel: 17, 7, 9, 2, 25
- From the Powerball barrel: 19, 3, 2

The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said this week’s Powerball jackpot was the largest prize offered by any Australian lottery game at the moment.
“$30 million is a life-changing prize and is currently the largest offering of any of our lotteries games,” he shared.
“Imagine how your plans for the remainder of 2023 might change!”
