Motorists in Perth and Mandurah have been urged to fill up now, with petrol prices set to rise by 25 cents per litre on Wednesday.

From 6am, the average price of regular unleaded petrol will increase to 198.4 cpl.

EG Ampol/Caltex Woolworths will hike prices by at least 42 cpl up to 213.9 cpl.

Coles Express, 7-Eleven, BP, Puma/Caltex and Ampol prices will increase to 209.9 cpl and Vibe up to 203.5 cpl.

Despite Wednesday’s average hike, there will be 30 individual fuel stations offering prices below 170 cpl.

Buying the cheapest fuel on offer could potentially save drivers as much as $28 on a 60 litre tank.

The cheapest petrol will be located at Costco Perth Airport (165.7), Vibe Kwinana (168.7), Shell High Wycombe (168.9) and Liberty Banksia Grove (168.9).

People still have time to fill up at Tuesday’s cheapest service stations: Costco Perth Airport (164.7), Coles Express Bentley (167.9), BP Morley (167.9) and Shell High Wycombe (168.9).

This comes after prices eased slightly last week despite expectations that the reinstated fuel excise tax would start to flow through and be passed onto customers.

The average retail price across the country fell by 3.9 cents last week to 178.6 cents a litre, the weekly Australian Institute of Petroleum report said.

Unleaded fuel prices fell in Perth, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide but lifted in Canberra, Darwin and Hobart.
