Elizabeth Hurley has reached out to Shane Warne’s eldest daughter in the wake of appalling ratings for Channel Nine’s Shane Warne miniseries, titled Warnie, which aired this week.

The British supermodel took to Instagram to wish her ex-fiance’s daughter Brooke a happy birthday along with a string of heart emojis, kisses, and the words, “Love you.”

Hurley, 58, has always had a special relationship with the children of the late cricketer and their love and support for each other has continued well beyond Warne’s shock death.

Brooke, who turned 26 this week, shared a series of photos from her celebrations yesterday and captioned them: “Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. Such a great weekend and have had a special low key day today.”

Hurley and Warne first got together in late 2010. He proposed to her in September 2011 but they split in 2013.

Nevertheless, Warne always maintained that his relationship with Hurley was the “happiest time of his life”.

Hurley showed her support for Brooke shortly after the airing of the Channel Nine two-part miniseries, which drew only 528,000 metro viewers on the first night. That number then slipped to just 434,000 for the second and final instalment.

The miniseries, titled Warnie, recreated a steamy sex scene between Warne, played by Aussie actor Alex Williams, and Hurley, depicted by British actress Shanti Kali, after they are seen hooking up in a London hotel room in Monday night’s episode.

The couple then dress and run into the street, recreating the moment Hurley and Warne kissed outside and were caught by paparazzi, unveiling their romance to the world.
