Hyundai showed off its 2024 Santa Fe’s stylish new exterior mid-July, the model’s first fundamental revamp since it debuted in 2018. The fifth-generation SUV sports a much boxier look than its curvy predecessor, meant to maximize interior space and cargo capacity [and, let’s be frank, to trick people into thinking it’s a Land Rover. —Ed.]. The 2024 Santa Few also has a much bigger tailgate and a longer wheelbase; stylistically, the design is built around a new H-shaped design motif, found throughout the entire car.

And the new Santa Fe does indeed look adventurous, with sharply defined wheel arches, a shortened front overhang, and 21-inch rims. The automaker also upped the ante in the interior space, making more room for grocery shopping, materials for home improvement projects, sports and recreation equipment, and pet apparatuses.
When the new, larger tailgate is opened, it’s apparent the cabin is roomy, with a terrace-like vibe in the back. The second and third rows’ fully folding seats give the SUV the most interior capacity in its class. Plus the 2024 Santa Fe has a bevy of high-tech features, including a 12.3-inch Panoramic Curved Display; and an infotainment system with dual wireless charging. The seats and headliner are colourful and inviting, with soft-touch wood trim and Nappa leather upholstery.

Additionally, the new SUV also incorporates several sustainable materials. The suede headliner, floor mats, and second- and third-row seatbacks are made from recycled plastic; while the crash pad and door trim cover are an eco-friendly leatherette.
Hyundai says the all-new Santa Fe will debut in full on the automaker’s YouTube channel in August.
