Hyundai is recalling almost 1,900 newer cars and SUVs in Canada because poorly secured windshields may come loose and let in moisture and wind noise.
Specifically, some 1,893 examples of the 2021 Santa Fe and Sonata are covered by the recall campaign.
On affected vehicles, the windshields may lack sufficient adhesion, and as a result could come loose. If this happens, water and wind may be able to enter the cabin; in a collision, the windshield could detach from the vehicle.
Hyundai has had no reports from owners of any issues so far. The automaker says it will notify affected vehicle owners and remove and reinstall their cars’ windshields.
The recall is number R0206 per Hyundai; and 2021-791 in Transport Canada’s system.
