Advocate Malesela Teffo has clapped back at EFF leader Julius Malema after he claimed that the advocate does not back up his statements with facts – in an interview on SABC’s It’s Topical on 17 July.
ADV TEFFO: ‘I DON’T HAVE TO ENTERTAIN HIM’
Advocate Teffo was representing four of the five alleged hitmen accused of murdering former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa.
Five alleged hitmen – Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa and Sifisokuhle Ntuli – are on trial for the soccer star’s murder.
Advocate Teffo told the Pretoria High Court that he had withdrawn as the legal representative on 12 July. However, he claims that he did not actually withdraw, but instructing attorney, Timothy Thobane, says Teffo was off the case – according to a report by Times Live.
In a recently resurfaced interview, Advocate Teffo responded to Julius Malema’s comment about him. So, he said Malema should stick to politics and he would stick to law.
“It’s a politician. I don’t have to say much about that. The reason Julius Malema responded the way he did. He was asked the question by the journalist. So he responded,” he said.
“What is the relevance of the Senzo Meyiwa case at the EFF press conference? All I can say is Julius Malema should just keep (to) his political work and I am a lawyer. I will keep to my legal work. I don’t have to entertain him,” he continued.

So, what did Malema say about Advocate Teffo? Malema claimed that Advocate Teffo is self destructive. He also stated that he loosely throws peoples names in without backing up his claim with facts.
“I don’t believe there is any Cyril who concocted anything on him. He was self destructive and he has got himself to blame,” he said as he claimed Advocate Teffo loosely throws in people’s names without backing it up with facts.
