I felt sick after spotting British Airways’ kitchen covered in FILTH

BRITISH Airways has been slammed by passengers for their “unhygienic” kitchen area – which was covered in FILTH.

An area of an Airbus was left covered in rubbish, including sachets of milk, with customers being left disgusted by what they saw.

In a picture seen by The Sun, wrappers and dirt covered the floor in the kitchen area where the food and drink trolley is stored.

Speaking to The Sun one passenger said: “There was milk and other things on the floor and god knows what else is down there.

“I just thought it was absolutely disgraceful, that it was just in the eye line of customers and nothing was being done about it.

“After covid you would expect that things would be cleaner, and they would be hotter on hygiene but that isn’t the case.

“It isn’t up to the crew to clean it up, but something needs to be done about it. It’s terrible that BA allows the place where they prepare their food to be in that grim of a state.”

A source added: “It isn’t just that one aircraft, cleaning has not been done on any of the planes during covid.

“You would think that those planes would have had a deep clean, because that kind of rubbish can breed bacteria and god knows what else.

“They haven’t been deep cleaned or repaired, there is nothing wrong with them from a safety point of view but the hygiene is awful.”

A spokesman for British Airways said: “We insist on very high standards of cleanliness on our aircraft and are committed to providing the best experience for our customers.

“We clean every aircraft after each flight. We are looking into this individual case further.”

It comes after the airline announced that they were axing 16,000 summer flights and staff were threatening to walk out in a row over pay.

The travel giant sparked feast of summer travel chaos after cancelling around 10 per cent of all their flights until the autumn – around 60 trips a day.

Many staff have already accepted a pay reduction of 10 per cent during the pandemic – but now they want their full salaries reinstated as the cost of living soars.

GMB trade union representative Nadine Houghton said it is “no wonder” workers are considering taking a stand.

Chiefs from GMB and Unite unions are getting a hold on how many people will participate in a walkout if pay demands aren’t met.

Ground staff were among those to rejected a “generous” one-off lump sum – around 10 per cent of their wage – because it meant the long-term pay cut would remain in place.

The majority of staff however are understood to have accepted the incentive.

Thousands of EasyJet passengers were also told at short notice their flights were cancelled due to “air traffic controls” on May 24.

On Sunday, EasyJet were forced to cancel a number of flights to and from Belfast and Faro, with at least 26 affected to and from London Gatwick.

One woman said her daughter had been left in tears while others said they were stranded overnight at the airport.
