As a parting gift from her parents, she was handed an Emirates business class brief that took her from Glasgow to Dubai on route to Melbourne.

The travel lover, from Inverness, couldn’t believe how the other half lived after seeing what it was like for herself.

She said: “It was an unreal experience I never thought I’d have.

“So I feel extremely grateful that I got the chance to experience flying that way.

“I would 100 per cent want to fly first class again, but being realistic, I’m not sure how attainable it would be now I’m backpacking Australia.

“But something to work toward in the future for sure.”

Megan pampered herself in the executive lounge where she had a shower before tucking into some great food and sipping on champagne.

When she got on the plane she was wowed to find her very own mini bar and TV area complete with more yummy snacks and meals.

She adds: “In terms of it being worth it, I was flying one way, the second flight being especially long, so it made my journey to the other side of the world smoother for sure.

“Also it was a nice distraction from the fact I was travelling solo for the first time and about to start a whole new life half the world away.

“But to other people I understand it wouldn’t be worth it, I think if it’s in your budget it’s worth it but I wouldn’t make sacrifices for your holiday to have the experience.

“The highlight for me was probably the comfort of the seat itself.

“The flight was just over seven hours but when I landed I felt so different from times I’d flown before because it’s not like you’re sitting in the same position the whole time, you can move the chair, make it into a bed, there’s so much room to stretch your legs and it makes such a difference.”
