AN AIR hostess flew to Edinburgh for the first time and admitted the toughest task was working out how to say it.
American Stephanie Webb, 27, revealed it’s not a trip she would normally make because she doesn’t like the aircraft.
But when she accepted she spent ages swotting up on how to pronounce the tricky capital’s name so she wouldn’t get grief.
Stephanie said: “Don’t come for me because I know you all like to tussle. But I looked up on Google how to pronounce it.
“You have to pronounce bruh. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.”
Stephanie won plaudits from her fans on her Tiktok page and was told she’d said it perfectly.
She added: “Now my night is made. I feel so special. It took practice.”
The flight attendant is based in Tennessee in the US and works for a major airline company.
She’s not a fan of the 757 plane so ordinarily wouldn’t jet over to Scotland but decided to give it a go.
And she confessed that she instantly fell in love with the city, known as Auld Reekie because of its distinctive smell.
She did a brief bit of sightseeing and she made sure she was able to cram in a bit of shopping at everyone’s favourite budget store.
Stephanie said: “It was kind of sunset. Starting to get a little dark. How beautiful is that? Absolutely stunning.
“Of course you all know I can’t go over to a layover without going shopping. So stopped at a Primark and got a couple of things.”
Stephanie gives an insight into what life is like as a flight attendant on her Youtube page.
She was amazed to hear about the city’s links to Harry Potter, which she didn’t know about before.
She said: “A lot of JK Rowling’s inspiration came from Edinburgh.
“She used to sit at a little cafe and write the books. How cool is that? I’m a huge Harry Potter fan.”
The flight attendant stocked up on some whisky to take home with her after her overnight stay.
She was then whisked back to the airport on what she described as a “party bus”.
But someone pointed out that the lighting on the coach may have been there for a specific reason.
The follower said: “The blue light is to prevent people doing drugs on the bus.”
Stephanie added: “LMAO. I laughed so hard. This comment wins.”
The flight attendant, who’s married to a pilot, revealed the visit was a smash hit for her.
She said: “I wouldn’t normally pick up the trip because it was on the 757. I’m so glad I finally did because I fell in love with Edinburgh.”
