‘I heard they were going to ‘Batgirl’ it’: Marvel veteran makes salacious claims on a troubled Disney Plus series

Depending on who you choose to believe, Marvel Studios upending its established release strategy to debut the entirety of Echo on November 29 of this year is either an experimental approach to rolling out content, or an admission that the series isn’t any good.

It’s taken a long time to reach this point in the first place, with Alaqua Cox’s Hawkeye spin-off having been repeatedly pushed back as Kevin Feige’s cinematic universe spends a lot more time than first anticipated debuting the slew of film and television titles to comprise the overarching Multiverse Saga.

There were extensive reshoots, some notable changes behind the scenes, and an agonizingly long time without even the slightest hint of when it would actually premiere on Disney Plus, but a salacious new claim made by Charlie Cox’s former stunt double Charlie Brewster on the Unscripted podcast claims that Marvel was considering shelving Echo altogether and sweeping it completely under the rug.

“Uh, yeah, well, they… “I always get the word of mouth. I heard they were going to Batgirl it, because they weren’t happy with it and now they’re doing reshoots and are planning on airing it. But I think that could also have something to do with the fact that there’s a strike and there’s not a lot of content right now, so like, ‘We have it made already.’”

Of course, it’s worth pointing out that Brewster currently isn’t involved with the MCU in any capacity, but that isn’t going to do a thing to dampen the speculation that Echo could be beyond saving. The downside is that the naysayers have plenty of time to reinforce that belief, seeing as we’re still nearly five months away from bingeing.
