A cheeky traveller has won plaudits from fellow flyers after she refused to give up her first-class seat so a child could sit closer to their family.
Sabra, an influencer from Seattle, said she was asked by a flight attendant if she wanted to give up her plush 1A seat so a mother could sit closer to her child.
But she was having absolutely none of it – and refused to budge to a worse seat.
Posting on her TikTok account @lifewithdrsabra, the influencer wrote: “That’s a no from me dawg… would you have given up your seat? Also, they ended up finding a solution so no, I am not a terrible human being. Also the child was like 13.”
She also posted a video of herself lounging back in the luxury 1A seat, grinning from ear to ear.
In a caption over the video, she wrote: “POV – Flight agent asks me if I want to give up my 1A seat so a child sits with their family.”
A viral voice clip playing over the clip says: “Girl, f*** them kids and f*** you too.”
Sabra’s decision was not controversial with her audience. Although some nine million people have watched her story, few disagree with the stand she took.
One commenter, Lily, said: “Good for you! If they wanted their kid next to them they should’ve booked adjacent seats.”
“Ok well that’s on them, one of the older family members could’ve gone sat elsewhere so the kid could have sat with family,” another viewer pointed out.
A third said: “Why didn’t the Parents trade their First Class seats to the people whoever was next to their kid in coach?”
A number of viewers also thought the gambit might have been a clever and deliberate ploy.
They suggested the family may have booked one coach ticket on purpose, in the hopes that a Good Samaritan in first class would give up their seat, helping the family save money.
“Just know they booked two business and one eco thinking they’ll strong-arm someone into giving up their seat,” TikTok user Timmy said.
