I Was Not Prepared to See Emily Ratajkowski With a Pixie Cut Today

Model Emily Ratajkowski and her long, straight and shiny brunette hair are like two peas in a pod — or are they? Since her early days in the spotlight, the model hasn’t strayed from her cut and color comfort zone … until now.

Ratajkowski totally transformed her look for a recent Pop Magazine shoot, for which she ditched the long hair in favor of a choppy pixie cut. In the first photo, the model lounges on a bed in a sheer white top, white fishnet cutout leggings, and white pumps, her dark hair a shock against the all-white bed. It’s cut into an artfully messy long pixie with bangs that looks as though Ratajkowski ran her fingers through it right before posing for the camera, fitting in perfectly with the casual, undone vibe of the shoot. In another batch of photos, Ratajkowski poses on the same bed in pastel loungewear and a sheer dress.

While the pixie looks amazing on the model and writer, it was just a temporary chop; just a few hours later, Ratajkowski was on her Instagram Story with her long hair and curtain bangs restored once more. However, if she ever does want to make a big change, the pixie gives her an extra edge that feels really compelling and chic. Commenters were mixed on the look, with some saying the haircut really suited the star and others saying it wasn’t their fave. One even pointed out the similarities between Ratajkowski and ’90s singer Natalie Imbruglia, who also rocked a short cut in her “Torn” video.
