Michael Jordan is one of the greatest athletes ever.

That’s why the six-time champion remains so popular today decades after retirement with fans still yarning for his memorabilia.

According to TMZ Sports, one NBA fan paid over $1 million this week to purchase a pair of Airness Jordan “Flu Game” game-worn sneakers when Jordan dropped 38 points to help the Bulls capture the NBA championship.

“The shoes — which Jordan wore during Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz while he battled an illness — were bought at auction Wednesday … coming in with a final price tag of $1,380,000.”

Despite the hefty price tag for the shoes, it differs from what someone paid for another Jordan-worn sneaker. Someone reportedly paid over $1.3 million for a pair of Jordan sneakers from his rookie season.

During his NBA career, Jordan averaged 30.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists on 49.7 percent shooting from the field and 32.7 percent from long distance.
