I’m a firm believer that M&S lingerie is better than any other, and these are my very favourite pieces

Marks & Spencer has long reigned supreme as the British high street favourite for underwear since it first launched lingerie all the way back in 1926. According to the brand, one in three British women buys their bras from M&S, and more than 70 million (!) pairs of knickers are sold by M&S every year. Which equates to more than two pairs every second, FYI.

I’ve always worn M&S lingerie. One look in my underwear drawer will prove that. As a late bloomer, I remember insisting to my mum that I had to have a training bra like the rest of my friends at primary school. So off to Marks’ we headed, and picked up what can only be described as two flat cotton triangles sewn onto a waistband. I felt *so* grown up. Fast-forward a couple of years and having finally developed something that could be considered worthy of needing support, or at least an underwire, back to M&S we went where I was measured in the fitting rooms for my first “proper” bra.

All throughout my teenage years, even when my friends were heading to Victoria’s Secret for ‘sexy’ underwear, I stayed loyal to Marks & Spencer despite its reputation for big granny pants a lá Bridget Jones. But then Rosie Huntington-Whiteley launched her exclusive range with M&S, full of delicate satin, lace panels, rich colours, and the supermodel herself pictured sporting her own collection. And if it’s good enough for Rosie…

Years and a few cup sizes later (told you I was a late bloomer), Marks & Spencer is still my lingerie go-to. In fact, both the bra and knickers I’m wearing to write this are from M&S (though admittedly not a matching set). I’d bet most of you reading this are currently wearing M&S underwear, too, and if you’re not then now might be just the time to reunite with the UK’s ultimate underwear destination.

From balconette bras and wireless bras featuring intricate embroidery, to Brazilian and high rise briefs in a stunning colour palette, Marks & Spencer’s lingerie offering has never looked so good. The ongoing Rosie edit is just as beautiful as ever (I’ve already added this silk underwired plunge bra to my basket), and if you need more convincing, remember that Valentine’s Day is just around the corner… Who cares if you’re single or you don’t have plans, it’s as good an excuse as any to treat yourself to some new lingerie.
