A FLIGHT attendant has revealed the secret phrases they use when they fancy passengers – but don’t want them to know.

The anonymous cabin crew member said there were two ways they discussed hot travellers with their colleagues.

They told Heart FM: “We have a little game called ‘find the Bob’ and basically Bob stands for best on board. So, you just find the best looking person on the plane and you call them Bob the whole day.

“And, then if you can’t find a Bob sometimes passengers get on and they’re sleepy and they put their heads down and they fall asleep and you can’t really see their faces.

“Then as they get off instead of calling them Bob you’d be like, ‘Cheerio.’ And that would indicate to your other crew members that you fancy them.”

Sometimes they will even call the passenger Bob to their face – they added that they usually spotted the “Bobs” during food service, explaining: “Then the passenger looks at you and you’re like, ‘Hi Bob.’ They say, ‘My name’s not Bob’ and you’re like… ‘It is now.'”

One flight they said was popular with Bobs? Flights heading to Vegas, they said, will have “quite a few Bobs”.

They aren’t the only person to have revealed this top secret.

Another crew member, who goes by the name LTN330 on the Cabin Crew forum said: “There’s the cheerio game you can play when passengers disembark.

“When you’re standing there going ‘buh-bye, thank you, take care’ etc when you see someone you fancy, you say ‘cheerio’.”

“You need to do it with a buddy and the challenge is to keep a straight face.”

It’s not the only secret phrase either – if you hear a flight attendant referring to hot coffee in your aisle but don’t spot anyone drinking a hot beverage, chances are there’s a good-looking passenger nearby.

In an interview with Yahoo, flight attendant Emily Witkop revealed:  “I recall for a few years there was a ‘hot coffee’ code among flight attendants.

“You would say, ‘I’ve got hot coffee in 3B!’ Which meant there was an extremely attractive passenger in that particular seat who the other flight attendants should check out.”

Amanda Pleva, a flight attendant with 14 years of experience and a column on FlyerTalk, says there’s a stricter code of conduct compared to if you were hitting on someone in a bar or club.
