A MUM has revealed how she doubles the space in her suitcase when packing for her family holiday.
Chantel Mila, frrom Melbourne often shares her top tips on her Mama Mila TikTok account.
The mum-of-two’s latest advice includes two easy ways she folds clothes to save space in her luggage.
The video was captioned: “How to fold to double suitcase space,” adding that it “prevents wrinkles and saves space with these two simple folds”.
She showed her followers how using a combination of rolling and folding tops and bottoms can make a lot more space.
In the video, she explained that she folds her tops by twisting the bottom hem upwards, and then folds the sleeves into the torso.
Folding it in half, it is then rolled and tucked into the folded hem to keep it in place.
For trousers, she folds both legs up towards the waist and then folds in half.
They are then folded again to make a small neat square that takes up very little room.
The video has been watched more than 25k times and people loved the trick.
One person said: “So many clever folding tricks.”
Another person agreed: “This is so helpful bc I’m going to camp in 2 weeks and I need to pack.”
Her trick is similar to the “ranger roll” which is often used by army soldiers to pack their clothes neatly.
This is when an item of clothing such as a T-shirt is rolled neatly without coming apart.
A YouTube video has also revealed how to pack spare gear in a small carry-on bag without taking up too much room.
Bag company Trakke used the easy method to pack a T-shirt, a pair of underwear, a pair of socks, a charging pack and a toothbrush.
The clever rolling and folding method has been dubbed the ‘overnight burrito’ thanks to being so tightly packed.
