And he got the opportunity to show off his talents when 2010 World Champion Neil Robertson visited Cobham.

The duo stayed friends after their game, and it led to Terry demanding that the Australian attend the infamous “Battle of the Bridge” in 2016 when Chelsea ruined Tottenham’s chances of winning the Premier League title.

Robertson revealed all to FourFourTwo, saying: “He took a frame of nine-ball pool off me at Cobham.

“I was invited down for the day and we had a game – I broke and he cleaned up without missing a shot!

“Apparently, he’d always win the pool competitions at the club.

“We’ve stayed good friends since. Before the ‘Battle of the Bridge’ game between Chelsea and Spurs in 2016, he even texted me and asked me to go, as he knew I was on this lucky streak of home matches and couldn’t bear the thought of Spurs winning the title!

“He’s superstitious. Sadly I couldn’t go, though it turned out that I wasn’t needed in the end.”

Terry, who recently joined Dean Smith’s coaching staff at Leicester, began playing snooker as a child and still maintains a huge love of the sport.

Speaking with Stephen Hendry on an Instagram live recently, he said: “I played snooker from a young age, grew up playing it.

“I’m not just saying it, but you were one of my heroes in the sports world.

“A sport I always loved growing up. I love watching it still. [Judd] Trump, [Ronnie] O’Sullivan, Neil Robertson, obviously I know Neil as well. I’ve met him a few times.

“I just love the relentlessness of everyone. You had that as well, Neil’s got it, Trump’s got it, Ronnie’s got it.

“Being able to win constantly. To see that week-in week-out, year-in year-out is incredible to me.”
