TRAVEL experts have revealed when Brits should be booking holidays, if they want to get the best prices and avoid holiday disappointment in 2023.
After Christmas, people often get over the January blues by thinking of where they will go on holiday in the summer.
And Travel Republic’s managing director, Antonio Fellino says that hits to the company’s website are already rising as Brits start to research destinations and prices.
Antonio said UK holidaymakers will want to have their holidays booked early next year, not only because they want something to look forward, but also because of the rising cost-of-living.
He said that booking earlier will likely give Brits the best chance of getting a good deal on their summer getaways.
He said: “We had a bumper Black Friday this year for bookings, which isn’t surprising given the economic backdrop and the fact that everyone wants a deal this year more than ever.
“I’m confident that January will be the same and all the best prices will be snapped up quickly.
“Prices will be at their lowest in the early months of the year to encourage bookings and are likely to increase as we progress through 2023.”
When it comes to booking holidays, Brits are being urged to consider all-inclusive deals, which can be a good option for those travelling on a budget.
Antonio continued: “All-inclusive holidays are looking exceptionally popular with families and those looking for security and stability in these uncertain times, with Spain and Portugal ranking highly in this sector.
“What’s reassuring with all-inclusive offers is that all-inclusive prices won’t go up even if inflation does, which gives our customers added peace of mind.”
Consumer expert Harry Wallop said he too expected package deals to be popular in 2023, as Brits look to lock in prices while they’re cheaper.
He told Sun Online Travel: “A lot of families, for them a summer break is pretty sacrosanct and they will trim back all sorts of day to day spending, but they’re not going to cancel their summer holiday.
“I think that’s why package holidays seem to be enjoying quite a bit of a revival because you can more or less book now and know that is the price you’re going to end up paying, especially if it’s all inclusive.
“It gives people the peace of mind that, though prices are going up and up, you know what you will end up paying for your holiday.
“I would expect to see package holidays enjoy a really good year next year.”
Meanwhile, these tips will help you save money on your summer holidays.
