“I am naming my album, Pretty Bitch Music, but pretty to me means something completely different than what society may deem it. When I say pretty, I’m talking about your aura, I’m talking about your hygiene, I’m talking about your manners. I’m talking about how you respect yourself. Pretty is much more to me than just like how good you could beat your face. It’s about how you carry yourself. That’s pretty to me, I love me a confident woman. I love me a woman who’s about her business because that empowers me. So I think when you look at pretty from of an empowerment perspective, I think that’s when it could be, used for good instead of anything that’s not good.”
My mixed heritage taught me a lot about inner strength.
“I feel like being from two very different backgrounds prepared me for the real world. I knew growing up that no two groups were the same, but you gotta respect them. I was able to get two different perspectives of the world. My mom’s side [of the family] are immigrants. She came here when she was 13 years old. My dad’s side is from the Midwest. They migrated to the Bay area [San Francisco]. Growing up with two strong-minded groups, I feel that it made me a strong-minded individual. So I’m grateful for that.”

I feel most glamorous when my skin looks like a doughnut!
“Honestly, I feel the most glamorous when I wash my face and my skin looks like a glazed doughnut! When it’s just glowing, with eye patches on and my lipgloss.”
In a way, Icy Grl was me manifesting…
“So Icy Grl, honestly, I think it’s a mentality. When I wrote Icy Grl, I was nowhere near rich. I probably had like $700 in my bank account. In hindsight, when I look at Icy Grl, it’s a song full of affirmations that all came true, so it just shows you the power of the word. That’s why I see it as a mentality because these words came from my mind. It comes from my mental state, therefore it’s a mentality.”
If my beauty cabinet was on fire, I would save…
“I definitely would save my makeup wipes. Then, MAC Dazzleglass because I bought every colour, so that’s really expensive! Lastly, oh girl, I hate pimples! So, imma be grabbing my aesthetician kit. I just got it off Amazon.”
