Ime Udoka missed the entire 2022-23 season due to a suspension, but is still drawing interest for head coaching opportunities around the NBA.
One team that is reportedly intrigued by Udoka is the Houston Rockets. In fact, the former Boston Celtics coach will interview with Houston on Wednesday, according to The Athletic’s Kelly Iko.

Udoka, who coached the Celtics to the NBA Finals in 2022, was suspended for “multiple” violations of team policy, including an inappropriate relationship with a female member of the team staff.
Prior to his one season in charge in Boston, Udoka had been an assistant coach with the Spurs, 76ers and Nets.
The Rockets are looking for a new leader for the next phase of their rebuild after firing Stephen Silas, who went 59-177 in three seasons as head coach.
Houston tied the San Antonio Spurs for the league’s second-worst record (22-60), giving them a strong chance of landing the coveted No. 1 overall pick–and the chance to draft Victor Wembenyama that comes with it–in the draft lottery.
