In true soapie style, Neighbours has RISEN from the dead

In true soap opera fashion, Neighbours will return from the dead with Amazon giving the popular Aussie drama a second life.

All the series regulars will be coming back including Jackie Woodburne as Susan Kennedy, Alan Fletcher as Karl Kennedy, Ryan Moloney as Toadfish Rebecchi and Stefan Dennis as Paul Robinson.

Amazon decided to pick up the show based on the reaction to the finale that aired on 28 July on Network 10.

The announcement was made via a sweet video posted to the Neighbours’ social media channels on Thursday evening.

In the video, Woodburne aka Susan runs to Moloney and Kennedy (Karl and Toadie) and excitedly announces that Neighbours is coming back.

They get Dennis aka Paul on a video call to let him know the exciting news.

True to character – Dennis drily lets them know he’ll have to check his diary.

“All right, I’ll make myself available,” he says.

The finale featured a star studded cast that read like a who’s who of Australian famous faces.

Margot Robbie, Guy Pearce, Kylie Minogue and Delta Goodrem all came back to say goodbye to the show that made them famous.

It was also a ratings jackpot for Ten with more than 870,000 people tuning in.

Neighbours was axed after more than 37 years when Channel 5 in the UK said it would no longer be airing the show.

This left a funding shortfall as the international broadcast had financed the bulk of the show due to its declining popularity in Australia.
