Let’s have a look at India’s ODI squad for West Indies series and Test team players who have been left out.

OUT

  • Yashasvi Jaiswal: The 21-year-old made a debut to remember. He finished the series as the leading run-scorer. He scored 266 runs in three innings including 171 off 387 balls in his first-ever innings in Test cricket.
  • Ajinkya Rahane: The Test team vice-captain failed to impress and could score only 11 runs from two innings in the series.
  • Ravichandran Ashwin: The veteran off-spinner was the star of the series, picking 12 wickets and scoring 56 runs in the only opportunity he got with the bat. Second-highest wicket-taker Ravindra Jadeja picked eight less wickets than Ashwin.
  • Srikar Bharat: The wicketkeeper-batter did not get to play any of the two Test matches.
  • Navdeep Saini: The pacer did not get to play in any of the two Test matches.

IN

  • Suryakumar Yadav: With three ducks in his last three ODIs, the middle-order batter again finds a place in the India setup.
  • Sanju Samson: The very talented wicketkeeper-batter has a golden chance to grab the attention of the selectors ahead of the Asia Cup 2023 and World Cup 2023. He last played an ODI match for India in November, 2022.
  • Hardik Pandya: The white-ball walks in the team as the lead pace-bowling all-rounder.
  • Yuzvendra Chahal: The leg-spinner is behind Kuldeep Yadav in the pecking order according to many and would be looking for an impressive run with a World Cup spot up for grab.
  • Kuldeep Yadav: The chinaman bowler took three wickets for 56 runs in his last ODI match against Australia. In total he has picked seven wickets in his last four ODIs. The World Cup 2023 preparations started for him as well.
  • Umran Malik: The speedster has been recalled in the team and as usual eyes will be on him once again. Reports have suggested that he is amongst the World Cup probables due to his raw pace.
