The Indian team have fared extremely well in Tests outside India as well, courtesy of some gutsy bowling performances. The WTC 2021-23 cycle saw the team going through ups and downs, but in the end, they have found themselves fighting for another ICC glory yet again.

Test bowling is a massive component where the conditions of the venue dictate the ebbs and flows of the game. And this WTC season has been pretty decent for Indian bowlers, who have picked up wickets in different conditions.
Ravichandran Ashwin with the most wickets for India in WTC 2021-23 cycle
Ravichandran Ashwin has picked up the most number of wickets for India in this WTC cycle. The off-spinner has 61 wickets to his name in just 26 innings. He has been excellent in 2023 as well, with 25 wickets to his name in just four matches, all against Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy earlier this year.
Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj on the rise
Amid the ongoing absence of Jasprit Bumrah, both Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj have stepped up. The former has picked up 41 wickets, whereas Siraj has 31 scalps to his name.
The duo will be spearheading India in the WTC Final at the Oval and their rhythm will be crucial for India. Both of them also had a fantastic IPL season as well, with Shami winning the Purple Cap for picking up the highest wickets in the tournament.
Shami and Siraj will also gain confidence from their records in England. Shami has 38 wickets in 13 matches in England, whereas Siraj has picked up 18 wickets.
The likes of Umesh Yadav (20 wkts in 8 matches), Ravindra Jadeja (43 wkts in 12 matches) have also been excellent for the Indian team. Jadeja’s amazing return from injury saw him winning the player of the series award in the most recent Border Gavaskar Trophy.
