Rohit, who also opens the batting for India, left the field immediately and was taken to a hospital for scans on his left thumb.
It was an edge off Bangladesh batter Anamul Haque’s bat off the bowling of pacer Mohammed Siraj that Rohit dropped, leaving his left hand bloodied.
The BCCI confirmed that the right-handed batter was rushed to a hospital for investigative scans.

“India Captain Rohit Sharma suffered a blow to his thumb while fielding in the 2nd ODI. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him. He has now gone for scans,” the BCCI tweeted.
It’s a must-win game for India, who had lost the first ODI of the three-match series.
