Speaking of the final, Kuwait and India are familiar opponents now as they already played an ill-tempered group match that saw the Middle-East side steal a last-minute draw to seal their top in the group as Indian defender Anwar Ali conceded an own goal in the 92nd minute.

It’s a tie much-awaited for the Indian fans and players as the game also saw a red card for their coach Igor Stimac following an argument with the assistant referee while forward Rahim Ali was also given a marching order for a fight with his rival.

Kuwait’s physical approach and cynical fouls in the dying moment of the game flared the temper of the match as until Stimac’s red card India looked like the side dominating the game in all quarters. While Kuwait coach Rui Bento admitted his players let their emotions get the better of them, Indian assistant coach Mahesh Gawli, who will also be in charge of affairs in the final, panned the Kuwaitis for unsportsmanlike display.
