The win came on the opening day of the SAFF Championship 2023 with Sunil Chhetri scoring a hat-trick. It was a full-proof show by the coach Igor Stimac and the side with Udanta Singh rounding off the win with a late goal.

Hello and welcome to the Live coverage of India vs Nepal Group A match in SAFF Bangabandhu Championship 2023. This is your host Aditya K Halder present at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru to send you all the Live action from the game.
The hosts, however, will be without their coach as Igor Stimac was shown the red card in the last game for intervening a throw by a Pakistan player. His action led to a brawl between both sides with Pakistan’s goalkeeping coach also headbutting India’s manager. None of the Pakistan players or staff were cautioned for the incident.
Assistant coach Mahesh Gawli will be managing the team from the dugout for the game while Stimac will be at the stand. Coach Igor Stimac has showed no repentance for his actions and said if needed he will do it again to defend his team.
For Nepal, side are staring at an early exit from the title run after they were outrun by Kuwait in the opening match of the tournament. The Himalayan side lost 3-1 with Anjan Bista scoring the consolation goal. There are no injury updates provided by both teams ahead of the clash.
A win for India on the day will also confirm Kuwait’s place in the semifinal as they earlier galloped Pakistan 4-0 for back-to-back wins. Both India and Kuwait will then be tied of 6 points each and will play a dead rubber on June 27 at the same venue.
