BCCI and CWI officials are likely to meet and discuss the same during the WTC final, India vs Australia at The Oval, as the Indian board is yet to sign off the tentative schedule shared. The official schedule will be released during or after the big final.
India will tour the Caribbean islands for a full-fledged series that includes two Tests, three ODIs and T20Is. Team India last toured India back in 2019 and won seven of the eight games (two Tests, two ODIs and three T20Is) while one of the matches was washed out. West Indies also toured India in February last year and lost all six matches of the white-ball series (3 ODIs and T20Is each).
There’s a possibility of postponement India vs Afghanistan white ball series between the WTC final and the West Indies tour as well, reported Cricbuzz. BCCI is sweating over adjusting the series amid a busy schedule as India are also likely to play Asia Cup in September, which is followed by the much-important ODI World Cup in India. PTI has reported that BCCI may send their second-string squad for the white-ball series against Afghanistan.
Asia Cup’s date will be finalised by Sunday (May 28) too as Asian Cricket Council dignitaries will meet to discuss the venue for the continental event, confirmed BCCI secretary and ACC chairman Jay Shah.
