Indian fast bowler Umesh Yadav was scammed after a person named Shailesh Thackerey took Rs 44 lakh from the cricketer to buy a property in his name but did the opposite and bought the property under his (Shailesh) name and vanished. A case has been registered against the scammer under sections 406 and 420 of the IPC. An investigation has been initiated to catch the culprit. “A person named Shailesh Thackeray betrayed cricketer Umesh Yadav after taking Rs 44 lakhs to buy a property in Yadav’s name. Case registered u/s 406 and 420 of IPC. According to our information, Thackeray worked as Yadav’s manager earlier,” said Ashwini Patel, DCP Nagpur.
