And as a result, Vaibhav Sharma has been banned for four years from all sports for use and possession of those illegal drugs.

Eight steroids and one anabolic agent was found, who was allegedly using these medications illegally without any prescription and resorted to smuggling to receive those drugs, estimated to be worth more than 3 lakh Indian rupees.

A package addressed to Sharma was intervened in October 2022, which discovered 26 vials and 2,250 tablets as anabolic steroids including testosterone cypionate – all of which were illegal and unapproved for human use.

Anabolic agents are drugs which help to build muscle mass and aid in weight loss. All of these drugs are strictly banned from sports and can have life-threatening side effects including cardiovascular and hepatic diseases.

Sharma plays for Ellerslie Cricket Club and has denied all the allegations. The player pleaded not guilty and alleged someone else for trying to sabotage his career.
