Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiniy Gets Lucasfilm Ito Trouble for Unexpected Reason

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny may have no capture the audience attention while is still on theaters, but it has managed to get Lucasfilm into trouble for an unexpected reason. The allegedly last adventure of Harrison Ford as the most popular archeologist had a good start at the box office, but with the rest of the summer releases dominating the screens in the past few weeks, it seems that Indy’s farewell has gone a little unnoticed. But not for everyone.

While many fans really enjoyed the latest epic journey of the character despite the criticism it has received, is not the performance at the box office Lucasfilm should be worried about. Earlier this week, The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that a backpack-designing company is suing the studio. Frost River, a clothing company from Minnesota claims that the bag used by Harrison Ford throughout the entire film is their Geologist Pack and was shown without permission, removing all signs of the brand from the backpack.

And that’s not all. The filing also includes a complaint about the use of the backpack in a 60 seconds commercial for another clothing company named Filson, which could have led viewers to believe the bag was designed by them and not Frost River. Here’s an official statement from the company:

“Lucasfilm and Filson produced a 60-second commercial prominently featuring video clips from the Indiana Jones 5 film intertwined with video clips of actors using Filson’s own products. Shockingly, one of the intertwined video clips was one from Indiana Jones 5 featuring Frost River’s Geologist Pack.”

Despite not a single franchise seems to be completely dead nowadays, this actually looks like the last ride for Indy, at least with Harrison Ford playing him. A reboot saga was considered many times, with a new actor playing the character, but the actor and the team behind the franchise have already stated that it would be really hard to make a Indiana Jones movie without him. And fans totally agree.

Of course, The Dial of Destiny sets up Phoebe Waller-Bridge character own story, and she could be the one to carry on the franchise in the future, although director James Mangold didn’t seem very fond of the idea, while the actress did.

A series set in the same universe of the films was reportedly in the works a few months ago, but it was canceled before it could even take shape. Taking Indiana Jones to the small screen would not be a bad idea, but maybe in animated format, something for kids to fall in love with the character as everyone did back in the 80s or a spinoff show following the adventures of any other character. But Indiana Jones without Harrison Ford is something that no one seems to want to pursue.
