Innocent woman killed by teens who fired 100 rounds into her Texas home

An innocent woman was killed by two teens who allegedly sprayed dozens of rounds into her Texas home in a random drive-by shooting.

Another woman was injured in the incident that happened on Oct. 4 around 12:30 a.m. in San Antonio.

Bexar County Sheriff’s deputies said two boys, a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old, were driving a stolen car when they opened fire on the home — which turned out to be the wrong house, WOAI reported.

Novita Brazil, 25, was killed inside the home.

An unnamed woman, identified as an Airbnb guest of Brazil’s, was shot in the leg and taken to hospital in stable condition.

Investigators reported over 100 shell casings were found on the street outside the home. Brazil’s home and another were hit with gunfire during the shooting.

The murder suspects were found about 16 kilometres from the crime scene, the outlet reported.

“We believe these suspects came to this location and did a drive-by shooting,” Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said during a news conference.

“The problem with that is obviously 14-15 year olds are doing a drive-by shooting in the dead of night,” he continued.

“They hit the wrong house and it looks like a 25-year-old woman lost her life,” he added. “I don’t think they’re showing any remorse, whatsoever.”

Both teens were charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

A GoFundMe campaign was launched for Brazil’s family members to help them cope with their tragic loss.

“Vita was a beautiful 25-year-old woman,” the page read. “She was the sweetest person you would ever meet. She was kind, selfless, funny, loving, adventurous, and had a heart of gold.”

Brazil’s funeral will take place in Indonesia, where she is originally from. She leaves behind her husband of three years.

“[She was] completely innocent,” Salazar added. “She was in her bedroom doing work on her computer and was shot and killed almost instantly.”
