London’s most famous department store gets a fizzy new champagne bar from Moët & Chandon.
From designer dresses and glittery gems to food halls and handbags, Harrods has it all. Now, it’s also host to the Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar, Moët & Chandon’s largest champagne bar in Europe.
Recently, the legendary department store has been developing an impressive collection of international food and beverage outlets, including a new, temporary pop-up cafe by Jimmy Choo and an up-and-coming buzzy new restaurant by Björn Frantzén of Stockholm’s Frantzén and Zén, each with three Michelin stars.
Opened in July, the new gold and glossy bar of bubbly is located on Harrods’ ground floor, within the beauty department, and covers a footprint of 1,345 square feet. The sleek design with Art Deco influences and high-end flair comes from London-based design studio Sybirate, and the showpiece is the nearly 70-foot long chandelier, made up of 60,000 brushed and polished aluminum and brass disks. Evoking a deconstructed disco bar, the motif of the chandelier is echoed in a custom-fitted magnum bottle sleeve.
The entire Moët & Chandon portfolio is available at the new bar, including the Legacy Grand Vintage 1996, which is usually only sold direct, and rare limited-editions, like the 1959 Grand Vintage Magnum, a steal at £4,400. The champagne is served in the new 870 Flute, made by Lehmann exclusively for Moët & Chandon.
Alongside the fizz, food is served including the signature, photo-ready Choux Love dessert of four choux pastry buns, filled with mango and passion fruit and topped in letters spelling out Moët.
Harrods’ Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar is open every day from noon.
