Rebel has been on a stunning weight loss journey

Australian actress Rebel Wilson has left fans gobsmacked after shedding over five stone during the last year.

Sharing photos on social media, the 42-year-old has not been shy when it comes to showing off the results on Instagram.

But how did Rebel lose nearly 100 pounds? While some may jump to the conclusion that she used weight loss pills, she has consistently denied this.

Others have also speculated that she practised a Hollywood diet, known as the Mayr method, which focuses on essentially focuses on improving health through digestion.

However, Rebel addressed this on her Instagram story, stating: “This was NEVER my diet.

“Also have NEVER endorsed any diet pills or magic weight loss pills. Do NOT want anyone to get scammed.”

Fortunately, people no longer need to speculate on how Rebel shredded of the weight as she has revealed that strictly following a high-protein diet did the trick for her.

In an interview with People magazine, revealed that she was “probably eating 3,000 calories most days, and because they were normally carbs, I would still be hungry”.

Because of this, she decided to opt for a high-protein diet, which she initially found challenging because “I didn’t used to eat a lot of meat. I eat fish, salmon, and chicken breast.”

It wasn’t until the coronavirus pandemic that Rebel really dedicated herself to fixing her diet and turning “bad habits” into “healthier ones” by using the time to face her difficulties with “emotional eating”.

“I definitely think the slow down, it did help. I think I was emotional eating, and overeating at times, because I wasn’t loving myself enough either,” she said.

“And it does come down to that self-worth and self-love.”

Rebel noted that since losing weight, she has noticed that people treat her much more positively.

Speaking on The Morning Crew, she said: “I think what’s been really interesting to me is how other people treat you.

“Sometimes being bigger, people didn’t necessarily look twice at you. And now that I’m in a good shape, like, people offer to carry my groceries to the car and hold doors open for you.

“I was like, ‘Is this what other people experienced all the time?”

Rebel noted that she has always been “quite confident” but since losing the weight she has been showing herself of more on Instagram.

“You can tell that I post, like, a lot of photos of myself on Instagram. I’m like, ‘Oh yeah, loving myself. I know I should calm down a bit on that,” she remarked.

Despite saying that, Rebel doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon on keeping her fans updated on what her and her new bod are up to.
