Inside Soap Awards 2023 nominations – Corrie’s Maureen Lipman up for four awards

Coronation Street: Evelyn and Cassie

The Inside Soap Awards, the only awards ceremony based entirely on the votes of viewers, is returning for its 28th year.

Fans can reward the great work of EastEnders, Coronation Street, Emmerdale, as well as daytime soaps Home & Away, Doctors and long-running dramas Casualty and Waterloo Road.

From Chesney Brown (played by Sam Aston) and Gemma Winter’s (Dolly-Rose Campbell) dream wedding in Coronation Street, to Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Williams) shock comeback in EastEnders, 25 years later, there is plenty of worthy contenders on this year’s nominees’ list.

As well as the usual awards like Best Storyline and Best Newcomer, fans are also being welcomed to name their Soap Superstar of 2023.

Fans can nominate any star from any of the shows for the new accolade who has made the year memorable for them.

Editor of Inside Soap magazine stated: “Every winner of an Inside Soap Award is the best of the best, as they need to triumph in a hugely talented and competitive field.

“But our Soap Superstar trophy is very much an ‘icons only’ affair – behind the red rope with the true VIPs of Soapland.

“We look forward to seeing who has truly reached out through the screen and made the biggest impression on viewers this year…

“And there’s no more discerning viewer than the Inside Soap reader.”
