AN airship-themed B&B that’s one of the UK’s most booked took just 10 days to construct, its creators have revealed.
Architect Roderick James, 75, and his interior designer wife Amanda Markham, designed and built the AirShip 002 in 2018.
The “remote, cosy, compact, aluminium-clad capsule structure” looks like a futuristic flying machine and features breathtaking Highland views from floor to ceiling.
The £165 a night accommodation in Drimnin, Argyll, was the most wish-listed Airbnb rental in the UK in 2020.
It also secures bookings over a year in advance.
The unusual-looking location is hugely popular and is almost fully booked until November – with just a handful of days still available.

Roderick said: “It has over 3000 components which were computer laser cut in the factory which took three to four months.
“But then the actual structure went up in ten days on site.
“In future all housing will become increasingly modular.”
It is marketed to guests as being ” comfortable, quirky and cool” and promises stunning views.
AirShip 002 also has a toaster, electric kettle, tefal halogen hob, combination oven/microwave so all anyone needs to bring is their food.
And they will be able to snuggle up in the queen size bed and watch the stars through upward-facing windows.
It also has a breakfast bar and worktop as well as a couch and desk in the bedroom.
